Any news on delays and so forth regarding turn processing at Ab Initio Games will appear here. If there’s nothing here, there’s probably not a delay.
Monday 5th January 2026 – Gridstats has been run and sent out.
Saturday 3rd January 2026 – All turns due on Thursday (Gameplan Baseball, Hoopplan, Slapshot, Run Chase, Raceplan and Gameplan) have been run and sent out, so all games are now up-to-date.
Friday 2nd January 2026 – I’ve managed to run both Soccer Stats and Gridstats (both have deadlines on Saturday) and will catch up with the regular games on Saturday.
New Year 2026 – I am away from Sunday 28th December until Friday 2nd January, so will then be playing catchup. Priority will be Soccer Stats (which has to get orders in for Saturday 3rd January), then Gridstats (orders for Sunday 4th January) and then the regular turns which will have their next deadline of Thursday 15th January.
My plan is to get Soccer Stats done on the Friday, Gridstats on the Friday (if brain is not too fried from driving) and all remaining games on the Saturday.
Saturday 27th December – all games due on Thursday 25th December have now been run and sent out.
Thursday 25th December – as warned, turns haven’t been run today, and I don’t expect to run them on Boxing Day, but will get them run on Saturday 27th. I will update here once all have been processed.
Update – Raceplan, Hoopplan and Slapshot all had full sets of orders on Boxing Day, so those have been run and sent out. The remaining games will be run on Saturday.
Christmas and New Year 2025 – I will be running games over Christmas and New Year, but expect them to be slightly delayed (Thursday 25th may be on Boxing Day or the day after, Thursday 1st January will probably be on the Saturday after).
Deadlines – As far as I am concerned, Thursday deadlines are working really well (I get my weekends back) so we’ll stick with them at least until the end of the summer. The only minor caveat is orders should be in by 7am, as sometimes I am up and wanting to get games run (and it also means I can run them all before heading out for the day).
Housekeeping – Please can players make sure their credits are topped up (and that doesn’t mean continually dropping to -1) and also make sure turns are submitted on time. Both issues have slowed me down recently, and it’s always a minority (usually the same people) and right now, I really do want to be focussing my energy elsewhere. Thanks………
Hotmail Problems – I’m still having problems with outgoing emails (not game reports, only messages sent from my mailbox) reaching Hotmail users. If you haven’t set danny@pbmsports.com as a trusted email address please do so, and feel free to raise it with Hotmail if you are getting blocked. They seem to have decided to block the email address, albeit only occasionally. I can’t bug them, as they’re not my email provider. I will, if I really need to, use an alternative email address, but I’m hoping to avoid having to make that permanent.
Late Turns – can I remind people about chasing late results – I aim to get games run on the Thursday (for two weekly games), and given the number of turns this does mean spreading them out (I also need to avoid sending out too many results in a short timeframe, as they will trigger systems thinking I’m sending spam). Please wait until Saturday before you chase anything “late”, and for those in more than one game, don’t assume because you’ve received one game report that I’ve sent them all. If a turn is missing, make sure you tell me which game and team you need.
